Grounded in the Word: A Guide to Mastering Standardized Test Vocabulary and Biblical Comprehension
Published in Paperback by Comptex Associates, Inc. (April, 2003)
Average review score:

It helped me alot.Like most people, I found some of the words used in the Bible to hard to understand. When I got this book, I pulled out my Bible started reading it again. Now I know what a "laver" is, I understand the meaning of the "firmament" and I finally figured out what "mammon" was. This book was really helpful to me.

Growing Up Generous: Engaging Youth in Living and Serving
Published in Paperback by Alban Inst (November, 2000)
Average review score:

Nurture generosity in youthThis text explores the Jewish and Christian traditions of giving as it discusses how to nurture generosity in youth. It emphasizes linking service with giving and it outlines obstacles to addressing the issue of money and youth.

Guide to the Vascular Plants of the Blue Ridge
Published in Paperback by University of Georgia Press (August, 1989)
Average review score:

Good technical keyThis is an excellent key for trained botanists (or very knowledgable amateurs) who want to identify the flora of the Blue Ridge Mountains of the southeast United States. However, it is not a book for the untrained, casual observer of wildflowers. The dichotomous key is easy to follow, though I wished the habitat descriptions were more detailed. The lack of illustrations is distressing -- sometimes a picture IS worth a thousand words! However, I appreciate that illustrations are expensive and would have increased the size of the book. It is easily carried in the field -- always a plus.

The History and Theology of the New Testament Writings
Published in Paperback by Fortress Press (September, 1998)
Average review score:

Reliable reference bookWhile this books addresses New Testament theology, the author avoids political motivations and attempts to focus on facts and scholarship. The reader is offered concise known facts on each New Testament book and general information consensus on each book, if any, from respected scholars. Conclusions from the data may be drawn as desired. An extensive bibliography on each book encourages additional study. In other words, this is a balanced and reliable reference book worth collecting.

Hymns for Praise and Worship
Published in Hardcover by Evangel Publishing House (July, 1984)
Average review score:

A FINE STANDARD HYMNALWith a definite Pentecostal/charismatic slant. One delightful feature is the inclusion of responsorials with strong words of praise from many different sources, including the Church Fathers!

I Can't Do What?: Voices of Pathfinding Women
Published in Paperback by Pathfinder Publishing of California (March, 1997)
Average review score:

I like these peopleThese sixteen women carved their success out of fields dominated by men at a time before popular consciousness and law started supporting a real women's movement. But this is not a book about the women's movement. It is a book which profiles sixteen people who forged ahead, not taking 'no' for an answer. In that sense, it is a book about the human spirit. These people share some things. They do not whine about difficulties. They do not see themselves as victims. They did not start their various careers to prove anything. They followed their own spirits. Many of them, almost ignoring their own hard work, talent and energy, describe themselves as having been lucky. These are inspiring people and I hope that the fact that they are women does not deter men from reading the book. I am glad that I did.

Inverse Spectral Theory (Pure and Applied Mathematics, Vol 130)
Published in Hardcover by Academic Press (May, 1987)
Average review score:

special literature?!-here it is!It was the first book to disscus the inverse spectral Sturm-Liouville problem with boudary value conditions for a=b=0. Unlike the other books in the field they give the full representation of izospectral set making results more noticeable. Actually it is wonderfull how they introduce the material, it's like a thing Hilbert used to do-siplicity of definitions and as a result simplicity of theory.
P.S. I was looking for this book for too long period of time, first I found out about its existance from the bibliograohy to Trubovitz' article "Invere Sturm-Liouville problem". It was marked: to appear and then I started my search for this book, but to find a special literature in English in Armenia is not to easy a thing. Now I found it and I just love it, not a right word-I need it!

Invertebrates
Published in Hardcover by International Thomson Publishing (November, 1990)
Average review score:

A great book for teachers and learnersThough it is becoming somewhat dated (the only reason I gave this book 4 stars), this text is a great one for a one-semester undergraduate invertebrate zoology course. The book is pitched well for the undergraduate student. One thing that attracted me was the attention Kozloff pays to the smaller phyla, groups that are often given little time and space or are even left out completely in other texts developed for the undergraduate crowd. The line drawings and figures are good. If you are looking for a book to support an ecological/natural history flavor, then check out this book. If you want more emphasis on taxonomy try Rupert and Barnes. If you want an evolutionary approach, try Brusca and Brusca. I have used this book for my Jr/Sr level invertebrate zoology course since it came out and I have been quite happy with it, but if there's not an update in the near future I may need to consider switching texts.

Nicely DoneThis book was really well done. It really helped me with a report I was doing on James Weldon Johnson. I learned a lot that I didn't know before, I'm really glad I read it, I'm just sorry it is unavailable. Lanky
